THE STORY BEHIND
Here’s how you can be a part of it:
COVID-19 is devastating in so many ways. At the same time, I’ve found two gifts in the middle of it: time and perspective. In this slowness, I'm being reminded of what is important and what is good.
My grandpa is one of those things.
For years, I’ve found myself daydreaming of ways I can honor Boppy. This is the dude that climbed through playgrounds with me, took me on weekly date nights, brought me lunch in his car every day of high school because I didn’t want to eat in the cafeteria, saved his daily change for years to help my college tuition, came to all of my softball games, prays for me day after day, writes me weekly letters….the list goes on.
I don’t know how I could better use my extra time than honor the man that has served me with his whole heart my entire life - and has served so many others as well.
I’m not sure I can adequately honor him, but I certainly want to try.
And I want to invite you to be a part of it.
Whether he has been your school bus driver, chaplain, choir mate, ‘big brother’, boy scout leader, pastor, mailman, or friend, you likely know Jesse as “Boppy” too. He’s worn that name as a badge for nearly three decades now. It’s as unique as he is. And I think just as special.
Because my Boppy isn’t just my Boppy. He’s yours too.
Boppy exists to love others, and if you’re here, you’re probably one of those that have had the privilege of being loved by Boppy. If not, welcome to the club. He already loves you, I can promise.
Here’s the thing about Boppy: he is full of love, yes, but also words and energy. Would you help keep my 81-year-old grandpa entertained and honor him with him at the same time?
